GKG – Golfklúbbur Kópavogs og Garðabæjar

Golfklúbbur Kópavogs og Garðabæjar (GKG) was founded 24 March 1994 and is one of Iceland's largest golf clubs, based between Kópavogur and Garðabær. The club operates two courses: the 18-hole Leirdalsvöllur (par 71) and the 9-hole Mýrin.

Golfklúbbur Akureyrar (GA) was founded in 1935 and is Iceland's second oldest golf club, after Golfklúbbur Reykjavíkur. The club operates the 18-hole course Jaðarsvöllur (par 71), which lies in scenic terrain with mounds and rocks used as teeing areas, as well as a 6-hole practice course that opened in 2017.

Golfklúbbur Álftaness (GÁ) was founded 14 May 2002 and operates the 9-hole Álftanesvöllur (par 32) on Álftanes by Þórukot - a shorter course well suited to players of all levels, with training facilities including a TrackMan driving range.
Golfklúbbur Bíldudals - Litlueyrarvöllur

Golfklúbbur Bíldudals was founded in 1992. The members have built fine facilities at Litlueyrarvöllur near Bíldudalur, where an old residential house has been converted into a clubhouse, and the mountains in the valley shelter the course from weather and wind. The course has 9 holes and is played as par 70 over two rounds.

Syðridalsvöllur is a beautiful and challenging 9-hole golf course in Bolungarvík in the Westfjords, surrounded by magnificent nature with high mountains in the background and views over the fjord. The course is laid out among sand dunes and marram grass in Syðridalur, and is operated by Golfklúbbur Bolungarvíkur (founded 1982).
Golfklúbbur Borgarness

Golfklúbbur Borgarness was founded in 1973 and operates Hamarsvöllur, an 18-hole, par 71 course at Hamri in Borgarnes, about a 50-minute drive from Reykjavík. The course is relatively narrow with plenty of trees and water in play, and is known for its beautiful landscape and views over Borgarfjörður.

Golfklúbbur Brautarholts (GBR) lies on Kjalarnes, about a 30-minute drive from central Reykjavík. The club was founded in 2011, and the 18-hole course Brautarholtsvöllur (par 70) runs along a rocky coastline with views towards the sea, the city and Snæfellsjökull, and has been named among Europe's best courses by Golf World.

Golfklúbbur Byggðarholts (GBE) operates the 9-hole course Byggðarholtsvöllur south of Eskifjarðará, right by the village of Eskifjörður in Fjarðabyggð. The course has been in operation since 1979 and is described by the club as varied and very popular among both beginners and experienced players.

Golfklúbbur Fjallabyggðar operates the 9-hole course Skeggjabrekkuvöllur (par 66) in Ólafsfjörður, with views over Ólafsfjarðarvatn, the village and the entrance to Eyjafjörður. The club's own presentation also mentions a 9-hole course in Siglufjörður as part of the Fjallabyggð golf offering, but this course belongs administratively to Golfklúbbur Siglufjarðar (GKS) and is not part of this entry.

Golfklúbbur Hellu (GHR) was founded on 22 June 1952 and operates Strandarvöllur, an 18-hole course between Hella and Hvolsvöllur about an hour's drive from Reykjavík. The course has a distinct links character with dunes and black sand bunkers, and offers views towards Hekla, Tindfjöll, Eyjafjallajökull and Vestmannaeyjar.

Golfklúbbur Ísafjarðar (GÍ) was founded in 1967 and is the hub of golf on Ísafjörður. The club operates the 9-hole course Tungudalsvöllur (par 72) in Tungudalur, an outdoor recreation area with views towards the fjord, as well as its own 6-hole par-3 practice area (Efri Tungu völlur) on the other side of the river Tunguá, which is free to use.

Golfklúbbur Kiðjabergs (GKB), also known as White River Golf Course, was founded on 6 April 1993 and lies in Grímsnes along the river Hvítá. The 18-hole course was officially opened on 18 June 2005 and is privately owned - the club has itself financed all the construction, equipment and operation of the facility.

The course is shorter and more relaxed than the club's main course Hlíðavöllur, making it well suited for beginners, families and players looking for a quick round. Two sets of tees make it playable for all skill levels.

Golfklúbbur Mosfellsbæjar (GM) is one of the larger golf clubs in the capital region, formed by the merger of Golfklúbburinn Kjölur and Golfklúbbur Bakkakots in 2015. The club operates two courses: the 18-hole coastal course Hlíðavöllur and the 9-hole Bakkakot in Mosfellsdalur.

Golfklúbbur Mývatnssveitar (GKM) operates Krossdalsvöllur (also called Stekkholt), a 9-hole course with par 66 just above the village of Reykjahlíð by Mývatn in North Iceland. The club has no website of its own but is active on Facebook, and the course is open from 1 June to 30 September.

Golfklúbbur Norðfjarðar (GN) was founded in 1965 and operates the 9-hole course Grænanesvöllur at the head of Norðfjörður by Neskaupstaður. The course lies in beautiful landscape at the innermost part of the fjord and the club celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2025.
